Does Denver's spotless 3-0 preseason mean anything? Maybe not. But Oregon rookie QB Bo Nix looked good enough to clearly win the QB competition over Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson, and comparisons to Drew Brees, Sean Payton's past prized pupil, are easy to see. If nothing else, Nix looks comfy and is doing just what Payton wants, which Russell Wilson couldn't (or wouldn't) do last season. The Broncos defense got Denver back into playoff contention last season, and we have a few questions about the Seahawks as they make their debut for new HC Mike Macdonald; the juries are always out on head-coaching debuts. The Seattle media not-so-gently reminding that the Seahawks could again kick sand in Denver's face as a reminder of what turned out a one-sided trade involving Russell Wilson that was all in the Seahawks' favor two-plus years ago might also serve to motivate the Broncos.
