Braves at Marlins
(MLB) Braves (ATL) vs. Marlins (MIA),
Point Spread: -1.50 | -115.00 Braves (ATL) (Away)
Result: Loss
It's about time! The Braves might have finally kicked into gear, and not a moment too soon, with two games to make up on either the Mets or D-backs and only nine games to play. Atlanta is at least stirring, with rousing wins the past two days in Cincinnati. Charlie Morton certainly looks up for a late surge, allowing just 2 runs and nine hits across 12 2/3 IP in his last two starts. Unfortunately the Braves provided little run support in losing those two games, but after scoring 15 runs on Thursday at Cincinnati, Atlanta's offense looks in gear. Valente Bellozo has been serviceable on the mound for the Marlins, but usually needs help from his bullpen, which is a risky option at the moment after Miami pitching allowed 37 runs across the last three days vs. the Dodgers.
