Rangers at A's
(MLB) Rangers (TEX) vs. Athletics (OAK),
Money Line: 105.00 Athletics (OAK) (Home)
Result: Win
The emotional tugs of this series are going to be hard for A's fans to beat, as the A's will bid farewell to the venerable Coliseum, their home field since 1968, after Thursday afternoon's finale of this three-game set vs. the Rangers. With it goes Oakland's status as a big league sports city, likely never to return, abandoned by the NHL, NFL (twice), NBA, and now MLB across the decades. Unfortunately, the the A's an into the hot Yankees on the weekend, but Texas enters having lost eight of twelve as the Rangers' disappointing defense of their first World Series title went off the rails in the summer. Nathan Eovaldi, however, hasn't looked good for Texas in recent starts, as his last two starts (11 runs and 18 hits across 9 2./3 IP, including four homers; 10.24 ERA) would suggest. Mitch Spence hasn't pitched badly for Oakland in his last three starts (2.76 ERA), and his home numbers are serviceable this season, including a 3.88 ERA. And we don't think the A's are going to lose this series. Play A's on Money Line
