Angels at White Sox
(MLB) Angels (LAA) vs. White Sox (CWS),
Money Line: 108.00 White Sox (CWS) (Home)
Result: Win
For a moment, talking about defeats when discussing a Chisox game, let's discuss the other team. In this case the Halos, who just matched their all-time loss mark (95) last night, and still with four games to go this season. As for the Pale Hose, they're digging in their heels as they try to avoid becoming the losing-est team in modern MLB history. Already level with the '62 expansion Mets for that honor, the Sox have won two in a row from the Halos to stay on 120, with a potential consolation prize that wins in three of four would put the Hose at 41-121...percentage points better than the '62 Mets. More losses, yea, but the title of worst team would still belong to Casey Stengel's expansion team. Whatever, the Sox wish they had seen the Angels a bit earlier this season as opposed tot he last two weeks, as they've beaten the Halos in three of five since last Monday. Chris Flexen already snapped the long Sox losing streak in his starts, with the Hose actually taking two in a row earlier this month in Flexen's games. Meanwhile, Tyler Anderson has endured a brutal September, much like his Angels team, as they've lost in all three of his September starts in which he's spun a subpar 5.68 ERA.
