Georgia at Alabama
(NCAAF) Bulldogs (UGA) vs. Crimson Tide (ALA),
Point Spread: 1.00 | -105.00 Crimson Tide (ALA) (Home)
Result: Win
Is the wrong team favored here? Nowadays, it's Georgia, and not Alabama, being given the absolute widest berth by the oddsmakers and wagering public, but remember in the four meetings since 2020, Georgia has won just once (in the 2021 title game), and now the Bulldogs are the first road favorite in Tuscaloosa since LSU in 2007 (Nick Saban's first season). Keep in mind that the Tide also won last year's SEC title game at Atlanta. Meanwhile, Kalen DeBoer seems to be adjusting just fine to the Tide spotlight, and Jalen Milroe can make a late September Heisman case if he continues on his current pace, already accounting for 14 TDs and not yet tossing a pick. Georgia's close call at Kentucky two weeks ago might be a warning sign for the Bulldogs, especially QB Carson Beck, who doesn't have his favorite recent targets Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers around to help any longer, with both having moved to the NFL.
