Rangers at Angels
(MLB) Rangers (TEX) vs. Angels (LAA),
Money Line: 128.00 Angels (LAA) (Home)
Result: Loss
A September fade in Anaheim has resulted in an all-time worst Halos record, whether they finish 64-98 or 63-99. (Previously, the 65-95 collapse of 1980 was the low-water mark). Blowing an 8-3 lead last night vs. Texas, and the comedy of errors in the ninth inning, puts the latest skid at five into the finale. But if there has been a ray of hope in recent weeks, it's been rookie hurler Jack Kochanowicz, who has a 2.81 ERA in four starts this moth. Across his last two (albeit both vs. the Chisox), he's been even better, allowing just 1 run and 8 hits, with no walks, thru 14 IP. Kochanowicz only has 9 walks thru 56 1/3 IP this season. Meanwhile, a disappointing season for the defending champ Rangers is summed up by efforts from Nathan Eovaldi in September, as he's posted a 6.08 ERA this month. Play Angels on Money Line
