Tigers at Astros
(MLB) Tigers (DET) vs. Astros (HOU),
Point Spread: -1.50 | 126.00 Astros (HOU) (Home)
Result: Loss
With seven straight trips to the ALCS, the Astros aren't used to getting bumped from the postseason in the first round. Now, with their backs to the wall, the Astros probably don't mind turning the ball over to Hunter Brown, especially against this foe, as he shut down the Tigers offense in two meetings this season, allowing just 1 ER across 12 IP (0.75 ERA), though the last start vs. Detroit was in June. The Detroit rotation is now going to be tested as AJ Hinch can't send Tarik Skubal to the mound every day. Indeed, Hinch went the opener route with lots of success down the stretch, sometimes with Game 2 starter Tyler Holton, who spent much of this season working out of the bullpen. Houston, which won 11 of 16 to close the regular season, has been getting good enough pitching to suggest we'll get a Game 3 in this series on Thursday. Play Astros on Run Line
