Braves at Padres
(MLB) Braves (ATL) vs. Padres (SDP),
Total: 7.00 | -115.00 Under
Result: Loss
There were still a handful of 7s out there for the "total" on this Game 2 and a bit of shopping here might prove a better potential reward. That's because we can envision another scoring-challenged game like last night when the Padres won Game One, 4-0. Though who knows how much it damaged the Braves to not have Chris Sale available for this series; Sale's absence and the rotation specifics forced Brian Snitker into using raw 21-yeap-old rookie AJ Smith Shawver at the outset last night, which would put Atlanta in a hole from the early going in an eventual 4-0 loss. Without Sale, Max Fried is the ace of the Braves staff in this series, and has allowed just 1 ER and 8 hits across 14 2/3 IP (0.61 ERA) in his last two starts. Though he was hit hard by the padres way back on May 17, his best work of the season has come in September. Meanwhile, the Padres' Joe Musgrove has been almost untouchable in his last three starts, allowing just 2 runs across 18 1/3 IP (0.98 ERA). The "under" pattern for this series might have been set in Game One. Play Braves-Padres "Under"
