We usually don't make a habit of looking "over" in games pitched by Detroit's Tarik Skubal. But the oddsmakers have pushed the "total" so low in Game 2, because of Skubal, that we actually see some value in looking at the "over" (all the better if you can find a 5.5). Even in a best-case scenario for Cleveland starter, ex-Tiger Matthew Boyd, later this afternoon, he is unlikely to stay on the mound past four innings. Boyd might not last that long, either; he's allowed nine runs across 11 IP in his last three starts (though four of those runs were unearned). Each of those Boyd starts saw scorelines eventually reach 7 runs or higher, too. Skubal's dominance is almost accepted these days, but AJ Hinch has paced his ace all season and usually doesn't use him past the sixth inning.
