Royals at Yankees
(MLB) Royals (KAN) vs. Yankees (NYY),
Money Line: 132.00 Royals (KAN) (Away)
Result: Win
Likely kicking themselves after letting Game One slip away, the Royals are capable of pulling themselves back in this series with their old postseason nemesis Yankees, and maybe even recalling the great 1980 ALCS when finally slaying the New York dragon. Cole Ragans has pitched as good as anybody since the beginning of September. Five starts since covering 31 IP, only 18 hits allowed, and best of all just 3 ER...that's an ERA of 0.87 since the start of September. Included was a solid six innings vs. the Yanks in the Bronx on September 11, though KC lost in extra innings. Note that two nights earlier (September 9), NY's Carlos Rodon had a difficult time of it vs. the Royals, allowing four runs in 6 IP, and conceding a pair of homers, though the Yankee offense provided plenty of cushion in a 10-4 win. In five September starts, Rodon allowed six homers, a potential sign of postseason trouble. For Kansas City fans who can pry themselves away from watching the Chiefs tonight, the Royals could provide a nice bonus. Play Royals on Money Line
