Notre Dame vs Georgia Tech
(NCAAF) Fighting Irish (ND) vs. Yellow Jackets (GT),
Point Spread: 10.00 | -109.00 Yellow Jackets (GT) (Home)
Result: Loss
First things first, it looks like Jackets QB Haynes King, nursing a sore arm and shoulder, wil;l be held out on Saturday. Backup Zach Pyron, who has starting experience from 2022, and does many of the same things as King, will step into the breach with the full support of HC Brent Key, who believes his team can win with Pyron, who saw extensive action in three 2022 games in place of injured Jeff Sims, and led a comeback win at Virginia Tech. Key, by the way, continues as a pointspread force, especially when made an underdog like this week. Georgia Tech is 13-4 as a dog since Key took over for Geoff Collins one month into the 2022 campaign, with several outright wins getting points. The Jackets are also very close to being 6-0, the close loss at Syracuse after a slow start, and their own worst enemy with grievous errors creating the final scoreline at Louisville, a game in which GT look the better team much of the afternoon. Meanwhile, Notre Dame is dealing with numerous defensive injuries, and QB Riley Leonard is no stranger to Key, who baffled Leonard two years ago in Atlanta when GT scored one of those upsets-as-an-underdog. Note this game is at the dome (not Bobby Dodd/Grant Field) in Atlanta. Play Georgia Tech (at Mercedes Benz Stadium)
