The same Monson who once coached at Gonzaga, and the same Monson good friends with Mark Few. The new Beach, under HC Chris Acker, is a hodgepodge of transfer after all of the starters from last March's Big Dance qualifier having left the program. Much-traveled G Devin Askew, who has fallen down the college hoops food train from Kentucky to Texas to Cal, now looks to lead the Beach, which lost at home to expected WCC also-ran Portland on Saturday.
