For a few weeks now it looks as if the Eagles are the only NFC team likely to challenge the Lions. Yet we refer to the calendar and the same time last year when Philly was also flying high and coming off of a rousing Monday night win min Kansas City, looking perhaps the class of the NFC, before things unraveled dramatically afterward. Different year, different team; now there's Saquon Barkley, and Vic Fangio has arrived to mold a defense that suddenly looks menacing. But it's a reminder that things can turn around quickly in the NFL. The Rams have been pretty good value since their 1-4 start, only that slip-up vs. the Dolphins, and narrowly missing a couple of spread covers in wins over the Raiders and Patriots. But Matthew Stafford now has preferred wideouts Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp in the lineup after they missed action early in the season, and even though the Birds will be loudly represented at SoFi, giving the Rams points at home in Inglewood always piques our interest.
