Clemson vs USF
(NCAAB) Tigers (CLEM) vs. Dons (SF),
Total: 144.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
We suspect last week's 68-64 loss to Memphis will be an outlier for USF games, as the lid was staying on the bucket as a thicket of quick hands slowed down the offenses at Chase Center. But we don't think a lot of Dons games are going to be played in the 60s this season. The stat line from the Memphis game suggests the difficulties for the Dons...just 32.8% from the floor, 21.4% (6 for 28) beyond the arc, and even missing nine free throws. Mind, this is still a USF team scoring at an 80 ppg clip and hitting a very respectable 47% from the floor. The perimeter weapons--Malik Thomas, Marcus Williams, and frosh Tyrone Riley IV--compare not too unfavorably with Gonzaga's in the WCC and combine for 46 ppg. Meanwhile, Clemson has scored into the 70s in each of its games, is tallying 80 ppg (the same as USF), hits 48% of its FG tries and 39% beyond the arc, and can lean on a sixth-year PG (Chase Hunter) to run the show.
