The playoff hopes are done for the Preds, though for what it's worth the recent efforts haven't been bad (wins over Carolina and Toronto included) and the team continues to battle for Andrew Brunette. Granted, picking against Vegas at the moment might be folly as the Golden Knights have won five straight including the first two on this road trip at Minnesota and Chicago. That's opened up some daylight between VGK and the chasing pack in the Pacific Division and this could be a letdown spot, especially with Ilya Samsonov in goal, with wins in only four of his last nine starts, and Adin Hill getting a rest tonight.
