The Angels are beginning this season like last year when they lost the opener at Baltimore and then went on a mini-win streak that included a sweep of the Marlins in Miami. Three in a row now for the Halos though the offense has yet to shift into gear. Pitching, however, has been surprisingly good, and it's a big night for vet but local product Kyle Hendricks, who makes his first Angels start after eleven years with the Cubs. For what it's worth in what was a very subpar 2024 for him, he didn't allow a run across 11 1/3 IP in two starts vs. the Cards a year ago. Meanwhile, Matthew Liberatore is in the St Louis rotation for the moment after working mostly out of the bullpen, but until the Halo offense stirs, "under" might be best in Angels games.
