That was a bit of a jolt for Butler prior to the Crown when top scorer Jahmyl Telfort announced he was skipping the event. Fortunately for Thad Matta, second-leading scorer Pierre Brooks II has decided to play and scored a team-high 22, including the winning basket in the final seconds, in Monday's exciting 86-84 win over Utah. Butler-Utah was just one of several fast-paced games thus far at the Crown where "overs" have been clicking with regularity. Even minus Telfort, the Bulldogs' well-coordinated offense is much smoother-running machine than the GW offense that Boise managed to shut down on Monday. The Broncos look a decent bet to win this event and the offense got in high gear after a slow start on Monday, scoring a whopping 57 points in a blowout of the Revolutionaries.
