Higher scores have abounded at the Crown as only in some extenuating circumstances have any of the first eight games landed on the "under" side. Georgetown seemed an unlikely high-scorer in the first round with its top three scorers absent, yet G Malik Mack stepped up with 37 in a wild 85-82 win over disappointing Washington State. It looks like Ed Cooley is going to let his remaining Hoyas run to their heart's content at the Grand Garden. Meanwhile, the Huskers look like they might be able to win this event as Fred Hoiberg has his big weapons available and firing away, with G Brice Williams (30 points) & F Juwan Gray (18 points) leading the fast-paced win over another shorthanded side, ASU, on Monday.
