What is actually going on here with the Mavs, besides the obvious (Dallas simply needs to shoot better...does Tim Hardaway, Jr need to see the floor?) To this point, the Mavs' wings have been flustered by Boston's perimeter length, and defense staying home, forcing Luka and Kyrie to the middle of the floor to look for Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II at the rim if they're not going to shoot. But, Dallas usually displays more accuracy at home in AA Center, though Derrick Jones and PJ Washington need to make some 3s along with Kyrie, 0 for 8 from long distance in this series. The Dallas defense, however, is doing its job, as the Celtics are only 10 for 39 from beyond the arc themselves, and Jayson Tatum (just 12 for 38 FGs thru two games) yet get on course, turning into a facilitator instead in Game 2. It might take Kyrie to start generating some offense, but the Mavs can turn this into a real series again by holding serve in Big D. Note Dallas also hasn't lost a spread decision off of a straight-up loss in this postseason, so we'll take our chances this series becomes a lot more interesting, beginning tonight. Play Mavs
