Jon Gray's occasional inconsistencies on the mound came back to haunt the Rangers last night as they failed to hold a 4-2 lead and lost to the Padres. But in the rubber match of this midweek set don't mind giving Texas another shot especially as Max Scherzer continues to stretch out since his recent activation, up to 5 1/3 IP in his last start and whose numbers look pretty good (1.74 ERA, 0.68 WHIP) in his first two appearances of the season. Acknowledge some better-than-expected efforts from San Diego starter Michael King, but he received lots of help from his offense (unlikely to materialize today) in the three times the Padres won n his June starts.
