For all of the color and potential fireworks of the marquee Kylian Mbappe vs. Cristiano Ronaldo matchup, this France-Portugal quarterfinal clash could easily turn into a hard watch in Hamburg. It's certainly been that way for Les Bleus at the Euros, with only three goals...two of them own goals and another from the spot (Mbappe's lone career goal at the Euros). No true goals from the run of play, but Didier Deschamps unlikely to change the pace and tempo, even though he has moved around Mbappe and continues to look for proper balance in the attack end. As for Portugal, Ronaldo's presence is close to the point of deterrence, especially if he continues to insist on taking every free kick. Practically speaking, two of the best goalies in the Euros (Diogo Costa and Mike Maignan) might prove the featured performers, and we suspect one goal might be all that is needed to win this one unless we get into the Russian Roulette of a shootout.
