Though we don't think England's defense is nearly as sturdy as numbers suggest in the Euros simply because, with the possible exception of the Danes and Swiss for stretches in their matchups, lesser foes have been content to revert into a defensive posture and force Gareth Southgate's men into a game of kick-about. The Dutch are not playing to any better reviews in Amsterdam than the English are in London, but they have managed to get this far and play a far more-open game than anyone England has faced thus far (a reason perhaps that no England game has featured more than two goals in regulation time). Southgate's defense figures to get really stretched for the first time at the Euros, and worth noting that England hasn't won a game in 90 minutes since the opener vs. Serbia, with every game since level after regulation time. Expected runs from deep from the likes of Denzel Dumfries figure to open up the pitch, and Cody Gakpo has been as dialed-in as any frontliner at the Euros. The Dutch do have the tendency of falling behind, but with the exception of their game vs. dour France, every Dutch game has featured at least three goals at the Euros, as we suspect this one will at Dortmund.
