What this series needs is not a set of umpires, but rather a referee like Arthur Mercante, Jr to step in and stop the fight. Once again, the Royals are battering the Chisox at will, just as they did when beating the Pale Hose six straight into mid-April. It's been a 13-2 combined score in a pair of KC wins out of the break, and All-Star Seth Lugo shut down the Sox twice in April, allowing just one run across 13 2/3 IP in a pair of KC wins. The Hose might think they have a better shot with Drew Thorpe, who has impressed, on the hill, but the same problem exists for Thorpe as every other Chicago pitcher...the offense doesn't provide much help, scoring just 11 times in the current six-game skid.
