We've got an ACC matchup here with two teams trying to get back on the right track. The Cavaliers host the Tar Heels in this one, and while I think one team has some reason for optimism, this is just as much a "fade" play as anything else.
North Carolina's season was probably over in Week 1, when starting QB Max Johnson went down to an injury. They salvaged a win over Minnesota and two victories over subpar competition, but the Tar Heels have lost their last four games. Jacolby Criswell has had accuracy issues under center, and while he's done enough to put up some points, the UNC defense hasn't done them any favors, surrendering 166 points over the four-game losing streak.
Virginia, meanwhile, has lost two in a row, but neither are bad losses. They dropped a four-point decision to Louisville before falling at ACC favorite Clemson last week. There's no shame in either defeat, and they come back home for this one. Virginia's defense played very well for most of the Louisville game, and a similar performance against a weaker offense should stifle the Tar Heels.
Take Virginia and give 3.5 points.
