Iona vs. Mount St. Mary's: March 15th, 2025
(NCAAB) Mountaineers (MSM) vs. Gaels (IONA),
Total: 131.50 | -113.00 Over
Result: Loss
A pair of upset semifinal winners will do battle in Saturday's MAAC Championship game in Atlantic City. Iona knocked off top seed Quinnipiac, while Mount St. Mary's topped #2 seed Merrimack. That leaves the Gaels and the Mountaineers to lock up for the league's NCAA Tournament bid, and I'm rooting for points.

Iona boasts an uptempo attack that's hit its stride late in the season. After a 5-12 start to the 2024-25 campaign, Iona sits above .500, and the Gaels have scored at least 77 points in each of their last four games. They shot just 2-of-10 from deep against Quinnipiac, but finished 31-of-59 (52.5%) from the floor and grabbed 14 offensive rebounds.

Mount St. Mary's isn't a record-setting offense. However, they average a respectable 70.6 points per game on the year and have four players averaging double-digits in that category. They don't want to run quite as much as Iona, but they're not offensively inept, either.

With all of this in mind, the total seems way too low. I think this will be a competitive game played in the high-60's to low-70's, at a minimum. I'll gladly take the over and root for points!
