Tigers over Dodgers- The Tigers are off a much needed day off after having lost their last three home games by Tampa Bay and host an inter-league contest against the Dodgers. Detroit had won 12 of 14 games before dropping their last three to the Rays and are just 2-6 in inter-league play. Justin Verlander (7-7, 4.71 ERA) has started to regain his 'stuff' since giving up seven runs in back-to-back starts in June and has gone 1-0 with a 3.32 ERA in his last three starts striking out 20 and walking only two in that span.
