The Pirates finally put together a big game on Thursday as they pounded the Reds. In particular, this was a potential breakout game for Andrew McCutchen, who has gotten off to a really rough start. The Pirates leading man had a very good Thursday game however, and maybe that's the buy signal that indicates a hot streak is on the way for one of the game's best players. When McCutchen gets rolling, the entire Pittsburgh offense will be transformed in the process. Liriano figures to give the Redbirds some problems. St. Louis is not as productive against southpaws, and several of the probable Cardinals starters have had fits with Liriano's offerings. Look for Pittsburgh to get the cash on Friday night.
