10* MLB Total of the Week + Belmont LongShot
(MLB) San Diego vs. Colorado,
Total: 12.00 | 111.00 Under
Result: Loss
Once again with temperatures expected to be in the low 90s and the wind expected to be blowing out to left field at a good clip, this has the makings of a pitchers' nightmare in this afternoon match-up in the thin air of Colorado. When Tyler Chatwood pitches at home he's been rocked to the tune of a 5.30 ERA and 6 homers allowed in 6 starts. Chatwood is facing a Padres lineup that has been swinging the bats quite well.

Colorado will be able spray the ball around against newly acquired Erik Johnson. He's allowed 5 homers in his 2 big league starts this season and the Padres right-hander has compiled a 6.94 ERA in those outings. In his only career start at hitter-friendly Coors Field Johnson gave up 4 earned runs on 9 hits in less than 6 innings of work. The outcome on a hot afternoon with the wind blowing out is likely to be much worse than that. The Rockies pen struggled yesterday too and the Padres starter had to exit after retiring just one batter yesterday. Both pens now will get even more work today too and this total sails OVER THE TOTAL!

In the Belmont Horse Race we like #1 Governor Malibu at 13/1 odds.
Since the addition of Lasix and blinkers he's been very good.
The lone New York-bred in this year's Belmont Stakes has been improving with seemingly every start. Stepped up to graded stakes company for the first time in the Peter Pan, he put in a strong late rally to just miss catching Unified after making a run through on the rail.
We always respect a horse that's improving and we expect him to get out to the front early to finish in the money. Play him to WIN-PLACE- and SHOW with very nice odds!
