Maryland is facing a morale problem and things were a mess all week with many players not even attending practices or team meetings. When coach D.J. Durkin was reinstated this week, a few players walked out of his welcome-back meeting -- and surely many more considered it. A conflicted roster is hardly ideal against tough Michigan State who will be much more focused and prepared and have a solid veteran coach.

Last week Freshman QB Rocky Lombardi filled in admirably for Brian Lewerke in his debut by generating 426 yards in an impressive win over Purdue. The Terrapins have fared poorly ATS against solid teams, with a recent 4-12 slide versus teams above .500.
